Hydrolock Encapsulator Agent
Hyrdolock is an Encapsulator Agent formulated to degas and emulsify hydrocarbons. When mixed at 3% with water, HydroLock molecules encapsulate the hydrocarbon vapors and liquid forming micelles or 'chemical cocoons,' rendering the hydrocarbon nonflammable, nonignitable and nonexplosive. The concentration of vapors quickly drops below the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) allowing quick entry into the vessel or removal of the hydrocarbon liquid and sludge. HydroLock works on all hydrocarbons; crude oil, gasoline, ethanol-blended fuels, as well as H2S (hydrogen sulfide), some acids and has proven to be effective on pyrophoric iron (iron sulfide) scaling. In addition, HydroLock quickly removes build-up on vessel walls and breaks down sludge.
The key to HydroLock's success is its ability to save time. Where venting a tank to remove flammable vapors could take many hours, HydroLock encapsulates the hydrocarbons in a fraction of the time. Turnaround time is reduced and the vessel can be returned to service.
HydroLock is also nontoxic, noncorrosive and biodegradable. HydroLock ingredients comply with CEPA 1999* and are specifically listed for use in soil washing, explosive gas devaporation and removing oils and sludges from equipment and piping.

Applications
Above Ground Tanks
Whether a vessel needs to be cleaned or hot work needs to be performed, HydroLock is the fastest and most economical way to prepare the vessel. HydroLock quickly reduces the concentration of vapors below the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) and breaks down residual sludge and wall build-up, providing quick access into the tank. The work can be completed and the team can move on the next project. An operation that used to take days can be accomplished in hours.
Underground Storage Tanks (UST)
A 3% solution of HydroLock and water will degas and clean a UST rapidly, reducing the concentration of vapors below the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) for quick entry. HydroLock can be sprayed on the vessel or circulated. It is excellent for cleaning or vessel decommissioning and can even be used for soil remediation, since it is an encapsulator agent. HydroLock facilitates and accelerates the bioremediation process of naturally occurring microorganisms.
Over the Road Tank Trailers
In a business where trailers need to be cleaned and returned to service as quickly as possible, HydroLock is the solution. HydroLock can be applied through a sprayer to quickly reduce the concentration of vapors below the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) and remove any build-up. HydroLock presents no danger like low flash point solvents or degreasers and HydroLock is nontoxic and 100% biodegradable. Being noncorrosive, HydroLock will not harm aluminum, stainless steel or carbon steel tank trailers.
