DIZA HAZARD CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES

One Agent... One Solution..

PETROLEUM REFINING

The petroleum industry is particularly well-suited for HCT's encapsulator technology, since the hydrocarbons are the main focus

of the encapsulation process.

The ability to take any hydrocarbon, encapsulate it and render it nonflammable, nonignitable and nonexplosive is an obvious benefit

to petroleum refineries.

HydroLock encapsulator agent can reduce LELs to zero in a very short time, so vessels can be safely entered for cleaning, inspection or repairs.

HydroLock can simplify and reduce costs in tank degassing and cleaning. For firefighting, F-500 EA is unsurpassed for cooling the fuel and vessel,

encapsulating vapor, liquid and free radicals and delivering a quick knockdown.

Tank Degassing and Cleaning

Venting a vessel to remove flammable vapors can take days, but HydroLock can drop LELs to zero in hours.

When work crews and equipment are standing by waiting for a venting operation to work, money is being wasted.

Instead, a simple application of 3% HydroLock and water will quickly reduce LELs to zero and allow quick entry.

HydroLock dissolves sludge and can even be used to help clean a vessel.

HydroLock also neutralizes pyrophoric iron sulfide deposits, preventing spontaneous combustion as the vessel is emptied.

  Quickly reduces LELs to Zero

  Minimizes turnaround time, saving money

  Softens and dissolves thick sludge

Process Equipment

There are numerous applications in a refinery where HydroLock's unique properties can save time, money or solve problems.

Some examples are fouled heat exchangers, condensate strippers, TEG dehydrators, piping, external cleaning, H2S and iron sulfide sludge treatment

and removal of sulfur scale, to name a few.

Spill Control

EncapsuLock is an encapsulator agent that can be mixed with water and sprayed on soil spills.

Testing and experience have shown HCT encapsulator agent's ability to penetrate deep into soil, dissolving hydrocarbons so they can be naturally

bioremediated.

EncapsuLock actually enriches the bioremediation environment, increasing oxygen levels and enlarging the bacteria population.

There is no fear of LELs during remediation or petroleum floating to the surface of the soil after a rain.

  Saves excavation and removal costs

  Quickly provides a safe area

Firefighting

In tank degassing, an encapsulator agent must completely encapsulate the hydrocarbon liquid to render it safe, but this is not the case with firefighting.

When firefighting, F-500 Encapsulator Agent only needs to extinguish the fire.

The less water and agent used, the better. Foam needs to form a blanket across the entire surface of the vessel.

Then, it traps in the heat, so the blanket of foam must be perfectly maintained, or reignition occurs.

Tank fires are so hot, applying foam is difficult, as the water superheats and evaporates and the foam bubbles rise into the air from the heat.

Many times, it is considered a success if the vessel completely burns out, just so the fire did not spread to other vessels.

Foam must completely separate the fuel from the oxygen.

That is one element of the fire tetrahedron. F-500 Encapsulator Agent works on three elements of the fire tetrahedron.

First, in rapidly cools the fuel and surrounding vessel - remove the heat; remove the fire.

Secondly, F-500 EA encapsulates the hydrocarbon vapors and liquid on the surface of the vessel rendering them nonflammable and nonignitable.

Finally, F-500 EA interrupts the free radical chain reaction, which are unburned gases from the combustion process.

Removing these free radicals reduces toxic smoke.

The ability of F-500 EA molecules to surround water drops prevents them from evaporating as steam, allowing them to absorb 6-10 times more

heat energy than water.

  Rapidly cools the vessel

Encapsulates all hydrocarbons - nonflammable and nonignitable

Interrupts the free radical chain reaction - reduces toxic smoke

F-500 EA can do it all!
